Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Mechanical Insulator for an onsite opportunity in Los Alamitos, California. This is a hands-on mechanical insulation position requiring experience insulating process piping, tanks, vessels and related mechanical or industrial systems.

The Mechanical Insulator will measure, cut, fit and install insulation materials around piping, ducts, tanks and equipment while following construction drawings and project specifications. The role also includes removal and replacement of damaged insulation, installation of protective coverings and safe performance of physically demanding insulation work.

COMPENSATION
• $61,000-$80,000

MECHANICAL INSULATION
• Measure, cut and fit insulation materials around pipes, ducts, tanks and equipment
• Install insulation using adhesives, bands, wire and specialized fastening systems
• Remove and replace damaged insulation during maintenance or repair work
• Apply protective coverings such as metal jacketing and vapor barriers

DRAWINGS & SPECIFICATIONS
• Read construction drawings, blueprints and specifications
• Determine insulation requirements from project documentation
• Use hand and power tools required to perform insulation work

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Perform work in industrial and commercial environments
• Work may include industrial facilities, commercial buildings, power plants, refineries and construction sites
• Follow applicable safety procedures while performing insulation work

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to climb, kneel and bend
• Ability to lift materials
• Ability to work in confined spaces Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Insulator REQUIRED
• Mechanical insulation experience involving process piping, oil and gas lines, vessels or comparable mechanical/process systems REQUIRED
• Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints REQUIRED
• Ability to use hand and power tools REQUIRED
• High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
• Ability to climb, kneel, bend and lift materials REQUIRED
• Ability to work in confined spaces REQUIRED
• Local candidate able to work onsite in Los Alamitos, CA REQUIRED
• Stable work history REQUIRED
• Compensation expectations within $61,000-$80,000 REQUIRED

IMPORTANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Residential insulation, batt insulation or spray-foam-only experience does not qualify for this position.
